David Hockney was born on July 9, 1937 in Bradford, England. He lives in both England and California where he does his work in two studios. He is an extremely influential photographer and artist, especially in the 1960's, as he widened the spectrum for all artists the come. He likes to see things with a large view point and he is very open-minded which shows greatly in his artwork. His artwork is showed in many different viewpoints.
To make my David Hockney photographs, I went outside and found different elements such as leading line, crop, framing, and rule of thirds. I used a picture of my friends feet and the line e was standing on, which I used for Leading Line, using the grass line. For my second picture, I used a picture of a flower which was blooming and decided it would be Rule of Thirds being that the flower is to the side of the photo.

I chose this magazine because I used to have a subscription for Vanity Fair and was in love with how elegant the covers were. My favorite cover that they have ever had was of Beyonce in black and white. That was the cover that inspired the layout of my cover.
To emulate the cover style, I made it black and white and changed the font to the exact font that Vanity Fair uses with the person’s name in bold. I used the text, “Modern”, and that used the classic white and red colors. The entire cover I wanted to be surrounded by Jessamene’s portrait. I wanted relevant cover stories surrounding her and I wanted her to be the main focus. A strobe light is a larger light powered by AC power and you use it when you need more intense light. A modeling light is a continuous light source that you use when you need to take portraits and when you need a more steady light source. A softbox is a light modifier that photographers use in front of a strobe light to make the light not so intense. A reflector is a round metalic sheet that is used when you want to soften the light on the characters face. A grey card is a card used when taking portraits so tha the photographer knows if the exposure is correct. A radio trigger flash is a direct source from the photographer to the character. Moncure Photography 3 May 2017 Rancho Buena Vista High School, Class of 2017: Idealization of Nature An ideal world would be a world full of happiness and love. I named this photograph Idealization of Nature because this picture captures the beauty of nature. In today’s day, people do not take into consideration how lucky we are to live in a world with such wonderful scenery. This is a photograph of the beautiful mountains and stream in Yosemite, California. I wanted to capture this breathtaking view through the camera and to do that I had to walk through the stream. I used my iPhone and used Adobe Photoshop to enhance the details within the photograph. I love this picture because it has a serene vibe. I believe it could be successful because not everyone gets to experience this view around the world. I wouldn’t describe my artistry as anything very different. I really love to capture as many details I can because it represents the realness within the moment. I have learned a lot so far in this year of Photography. Before taking this class I didn’t even know how to work a camera or what it meant to genuinely get a great photograph. I have not only learned how use a camera (ISO, Shutter Speed, F Stops, etc.) but I have also learned how to capture a moment in a way that makes you feel like you can relive that memory. This was printed on Epson Glossy Photo Paper on the Epson P800 digital printer. |
