I chose this magazine because I used to have a subscription for Vanity Fair and was in love with how elegant the covers were. My favorite cover that they have ever had was of Beyonce in black and white. That was the cover that inspired the layout of my cover.
To emulate the cover style, I made it black and white and changed the font to the exact font that Vanity Fair uses with the person’s name in bold. I used the text, “Modern”, and that used the classic white and red colors. The entire cover I wanted to be surrounded by Jessamene’s portrait. I wanted relevant cover stories surrounding her and I wanted her to be the main focus. A strobe light is a larger light powered by AC power and you use it when you need more intense light. A modeling light is a continuous light source that you use when you need to take portraits and when you need a more steady light source. A softbox is a light modifier that photographers use in front of a strobe light to make the light not so intense. A reflector is a round metalic sheet that is used when you want to soften the light on the characters face. A grey card is a card used when taking portraits so tha the photographer knows if the exposure is correct. A radio trigger flash is a direct source from the photographer to the character.
